What is a green
card for an Exceptional Worker?
A Green Card (Exceptional Worker) application
includes the appropriate immigrant visa application (I-140, as well as the
application for permanent resident status (I-485)). This category is referred
to as Employment-Based, 1st or 2nd Preference, or "EB1" and "EB2".

What is an investor based green
card?
A Investor Green Card application
includes the appropriate immigrant visa application (I-526, as well as the
application for permanent resident status (I-485).
The I-526 immigrant visa preference
application is filed with USCIS for immigration based on an employment creating
investment. Next, if the applicant is in the U.S. and in lawful status, the
I-485 application for
U.S. Lawful Permanent Residence ("Green Card") is filed with USCIS. This is also
called 5th Preference Employment-Based Immigration for alien entrepreneurs.
