Erika Marquez – Quality Assurance Analyst
Where are you from?
My family immigrated from Mexico City when my grandfather was offered a position at a Chicago auto body shop.
What do you love about your heritage?
I love that I can be from two different places and can connect with a variety of cultures because of how prevalent the Spanish language is throughout the world.
Why is immigration important to you?
Immigration changes a whole family’s direction. Not just in the literal sense, but as long as you are together you are making an impact on other people’s lives as well. People may immigrate for many different reasons: to be with a loved one, build a better quality of life or even as refugees. Regardless of the reason as to why people immigrate, they bring wonderful flavors, colors and ideas wherever they go. Immigrants make an impact.
Why did you choose VISANOW as your place of employment?
I work with some very passionate, considerate people, and the fact that our software is making a positive difference in the people’s lives that use it is amazing! Passion is contagious.
